4.0 out of 5 starsAmazing single port travel charger, 3 port power budget is unusable
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on May 16, 2023
First off, the charger is an amazing tool for traveling, replacing my laptop charger and phone charger. The size and single port performance to push 100W is amazing. The product has a sturdy construction and Anker as a brand has always been a reliable product for me.

The reason I am knocking off a star is that the power budget in the multiport setup is shared in a terrible fashion and the unit's "intelligence" does not actually exist. The USB-C port 1 can handle 100W and can "balance" with USB-C port 2 for a total of 120W. You realize there is no real balancing going on when trying to use USB-A port 3. If you plug in port 3 with port 2 plugged in the unit shuts off after a few minutes. This seems to be because, in this configurations you only get 24W available which is 1w shy of enough to actually use both ports properly. I tested by having a small 5W USB-A device on port 3 and an iPhone 12 on port 2, in this scenario I expected the charger to provision 5W for the USB-A and leave 15-19W for USB-C. Instead the unit must try to push 20W to the USB-C port and 5W to the USB-A port which overloads the 24W capacity and shuts down the unit, every time regardless of if port 1 is empty. The fact that charger will shut off instead of just limiting port 2 to 15W is frustrating and functionally means this is a two port charger that has 100W available for port 1 and 20W available for either port 2 or port 3. For this quirk, I knocked off 1 star, though I guess if you had 2 devices with hard limits at 5W you could use all three ports.

So it does everything itโ€™s supposed to do: charges fast. Stays in the wall pretty well especially with the attachment. I donโ€™t like using it though cuz it has pretty loud high pitched sound when charging something. Unfortunate

4.0 out of 5 stars It's huge, heavy and gets pretty warm.

Seems like a pretty good charger. I have charged 2 s23 ultras with it and they both get super fast 2.0. It feels like very good quality. It's a little heavy but I would rather have heavy and a premium feel than cheap and light. It can droop in outlets because of size and weight and I don't feel like the provided suction cup attachment really sticks very well. I think for the price it should come with at least one good cable. I bought a pack of 2 also anker which you have to for super fast 2.0. The cable that comes with s23 ultra will not support 45 watt charging, which is ridiculous samsung should put all of this in the box for how expensive these phones are. Overall good charger though and should be a little future proof even if samsung steps up their fast charging. Again I love the quality it's definitely a premium feeling device. It does get a little warm but that is only when I charge multiple devices which is understandable. Anker makes good stuff. Come on samsung and apple though not putting this stuff in the box is pretty ridiculous. Should at least be an option if you want a charger or not. I will be looking into different companies for my next smartphone. These anti consumer tactics are getting pretty old. There are other companies that still have great unboxing experiences. S23 ultra is a excellent device but overpriced for what you get. Samsungs and iphones used to come with everything you needed now they come in a little cheap box with nothing.

5.0 out of 5 stars My go-to gift for 2022
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on January 8, 2023

Couldnโ€™t believe this could replace my MacBook Pro (96W) charger. Itโ€™s so much smaller! Since I rarely need to charge all of my devices at one time, I now can travel or commute with just this one charger for the work-provided 16-inch MacBook Pro, iPhone, personal 13-inch MacBook Pro, Apple Watch and various Bluetooth audio devices. Again, Iโ€™m not using all of these things at once. So I can keep the large MacBook Pro plugged in during the day while charging the phone, then charge the small MacBook, watch, and earbuds at night. Or even unplug the large MacBook for a short time to charge up the small MacBook, while keeping a smaller device charging too. Iโ€™ve just never lacked for charging power just taking the 737 with me and nothing else.

There are two downsides to this charger. The first is remembering the configuration and combination of port usage and max output per port. It is very confusing. If you just use one USB-C, the max output is 100W, but if you use both USB-C ports, the max combined output is 120W. Same if you use all three ports, including USB-A. It can get even more confusing, so I just try to think most powerful draw to least from the top port down and donโ€™t exceed 120W total draw. That usually works out fine. But look at the Anker site or Amazon product page images carefully to understand it before you buy. Just donโ€™t expect the full 120W out of one port.

The second drawback is that this charger is very heavy for something that plugs into the wall. Anker includes what amounts to a brace to keep it plugged in if the charger wonโ€™t support itself without coming out from the wall. But itโ€™s not great having to travel with a detachable brace. Fortunately, I havenโ€™t had to use it yet, and Iโ€™m tempted to leave it at home. But of course that will be the exact time I need it. (I should note this charger easily plugs into the typical power strip and the weight actually helps keep it plugged in vertically.)

As noted, this was my go-to holiday gift in 2022. The amount and overall volume of chargers the 737 displaces for the average office professional is impressive. Nearly anybody who commutes or does even minor traveling will appreciate it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for Travel. Premium Finish. Some Power Management Issues. Fantastic Costumer Service.

Don't use this product to charge a notebook that requires more than 100W of power with anything else. Otherwise the charger will go nuts, it has a terrible power management and it will go crazy, alternating charging status (on/off) intermittently. In all other situations it is a nice product. A little pricy but it definitely has a premium finish. I am raising this review to 4 Stars because ANKER has an excellent consumer service. They really care about its products and their consumers. I was really surprised and satisfied with all the attention.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works ok but slips out of plug socket too easily due to weight

Charges as advertised and nice compact size, but because it is heavy with a hinged plug, it tends to fall out. I was just travelling abroad using plug adapters and it was even worse as it would slip out a little and then spark or make an electrical buzzing sound. Not happy and I wish I was still in the return window.

4.0 out of 5 stars great product but produce some amount of heat.

The product works; it charges my Legion 5i gen 7 with Intel i7-12700h and RTX 3050ti, it takes like 2 min after being plugged in to start charging since the laptop takes PD charging, but the Anker slowly built up the watts needed, so that why its take that 2-3 mins to start charging. Also, it charges my M1 MacBook Air pretty quickly. The charger does heat up, but not scorching hot, like warm to the touch.
It does stick out from the wall a good amount.

I like the size and the capacity. But the price was pretty high. If it wasnโ€™t for the trip I was taking, I would have waited. Others were selling the 100W+ for much cheaper but the size was bigger. Eventually they would come down in size and Ankera would have to bring price down. Oh well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Do you really need a 120W charger?
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on February 17, 2023

I was looking for a GaN charger with multiple charging ports (USB std and USB-C) that uses power correction for highest delivery efficiency (typically available only with >100W chargers). Anker is known for their build quality, performance, and safety certifications. The 737 is no exception. This was probably overkill for my charging requirements, but it charged my M1 Macbook Air in 2.5 hrs and iPhone 14 Pro in 1hr (+80%). Folks are already talking about 240W charging protocols, but those beasts will be monsters with the accompanying weight. The 737 is relatively compact and it comes in at less than 1/2 lb. No issues with it falling out of a wall socket. For those of you with "bigger" laptops (Dell XPS15 and beyond) or you may need to look elsewhere, but the 737 should fit the bill for those of us who like to travel light. FYI, I got my 737 on a great sale and Apple chargers suck.

This charger is very compact. I do not like the shape though, it does not stay put on certain wall plugs as the weight is distributed on its elongated length. For certain Lenovos, get the Anker 736 Charger ( Nano II). I also prefer Anker 736 as it is more stable on the wall sockets.
