I also use this to charge my iPhone 12. When running a charge meter in software, I seem to recall this charges at 18 or 20 watts, whatever the iPhone 12 maximum is, however, I don't remember for that use case.
After I found this to work well, I bought about 8-10 of them, and use them for all of my wall powered USB devices. I have 4 Aperature MC lights which are USB powered.
This product is nice and SMALL! This will also power a Macbook laptop up to 30 watts, however, that may or may not (generally not) be enough to keep the battery charged. Mac's have a specific battery management feature that drains the battery then refills it with software control, and 30 amps is not sufficient for many MAC laptops. It seems to work well for the mac air line, and can fill in on the MacBook 13 inch, but do your own homework here.
2) Samsung s8 does heats up and would not recommend to use it as a daily driver.
Still too early to tell but for now I give it three stars. On their website it says that it is compatible with the iPad Pro 11 inch and it may be the case but still don’t like that it heats up. Let me clarify that it heats up while charging and the iPad is not in use. I live in the Caribbean but even at night while room temperature is at 65ºF which is cold for a tropical island it heats up. This is a reason for why your experience may differ depending on where you live.
UPDATE:
The IPad Pro is actually charging at 15V 2a, hence the reason why it feels warmer than usual. I have gotten use to it and to date have not had any trouble with the charger.
I now have a Samsung s10 and use the same charger with no problem or performance issues. This is a great charger with its multiple charging output! Upgraded to five stars.

- 18W - iPhone
- 20-25W - 2019 iPad Mini and iPad Air**
- 45W - 2018 iPad Pros
If you're looking to consolidate your cable clutter while cost-effectively transition into USB-C this is a good starter.
- This is one of the cheapest GaN chargers you'll find
- Smallest 30W charger available
- Emits no light when charging (for charging bedside)
- It's a no brainer charger if you don't plan to own an iPad Pro or above (which I am not).
- Even if you do jump into the Pro lineup requiring higher wattage, you'll want a dedicated charger for those.
Having said that you may want to wait to jump into the USB-C bandwagon if:
- Your family or kids are used to using a desktop charger (large multiport USB-A chargers like Anker's PowerPort 6)
- You need USB-C to Lightning cables longer than 6ft
- Your digital needs grow beyond that of smartphones and tablets and into game consoles like Nintendo Switch***
*I found conflicting information on the Anker brand USB-C to Lightning cables but claimed max seems to be 60W.
**Not official but rather tested via USB-C reader. Apple does not provide numbers for the non-Pro iPad lineup.
*** Anker currently provides a desktop charger with USB-C: PowerPort Speed PD 5 but its maximum wattage is 30W and its disclaimer notes that "Will charge Nintendo Switch but does not support 'Charge-and-Play' in TV mode."

I have another style of Anker GaN charger and am still impress with how compact these chargers are for the amount of juice they provide.
The power prongs fold flat for travel and they aren't polarized so you can insert the charger in either orientation (although less useful because the port is on the front of the cube).
As mentioned, it provides good power and quickly charges smaller devices and even has enough grunt to keep a 15" MacBook Pro (90W) running while charging.
Overall a great product and the compact size and decent power delivery make them perfect for travel.

In set 1 test 1 I used the USB C Charger [GaN Tech], Anker 30W Ultra Compact Type-C Wall Charger with Power Delivery, PowerPort Atom PD 1 r with the Anker USB C to Lightning Cable [Apple MFi Certified] Powerline II. It took approximately 22 minutes to increase the battery percentage to 10%. In set 1 test 2 I used the Apple provided charger with Anker Powerline Lightning Cable (3ft) Apple MFi Certified. It took approximately 22 minutes to increase the battery percentage by 10%.
I repeated the test again using the same method and I got the same results. The total cost of the products used in test 1 is $70 CDN plus taxes. Not worth it. So I'm going to start the return process. 3 stars because it charges and it works but lost 2 stars because it didn't perform as claimed and it performed as well as the stock charger. Value for the money is 1 star because I got the same results as the stock charger, it's $70 (combined products) bought the same results as the stock charger, I could probably find a better anker product at a cheaper price, and I was not satisfied with the results.
However, it is an anker product and I trust in their build and quality. The product does not feel cheap and flimsy. It is a great size for travel. This product combination was just not for me.
*Note: As I was writing this review, I was still running a test. It took 35 minutes and 5 seconds to increase the battery percentage by 12%.
*Note 2: I changed the rating from 3 to 5 star. I got a response from Anker which explained the performance. Charging from 0 to 50% can take up to 30 minutes. Which is really good! But the iPhone reduces the current when the battery percentage is from 50 to 100% to avoid overheating. At this present time my battery percentage went from 38% to 77% in 32 minutes.
I would highly recommend this charger for it's performance and I would highly recommend Anker for their customer support and service.

I can’t really get into how it works on a technical level but essentially gan (gallium nitride) replaces silicone and allows chargers to either be smaller or packin more power in the same space.
This cube is only a fraction larger than that standard 5w useless charger that Apple gives you. In that size you are getting 30w, 6x as much. I use the USB-c to lightning cable and this will charger older Apple products at 12w, my iPhone 8 at 18w and a Nintendo switch at the fastest speed possible while it is not docked. It gets a little warm but not uncomfortably hot. It feels very heavy and substantial for its small size.
There are two downsides. the prongs don’t fold in which is annoying but it’s easy enough to tuck it into a small pocket when you travel with it. I think we will have this feature available soon as more chargers come into the market. The other problem is that I wish it was 40w (not their fault haha). You need 40w to use the switch docked and it would be great to power the switch fully with a cube charger. I didn’t take off any stars for this because I know they would have to make it larger to add more power.
