so my forehead muscles are REALLY STRONG - so i've been getting botox for about four years every 3-4 months, which has helped massively. however, i found out i was pregnant in the beginning of january (yay!!!), after i had just gotten my botox refreshed. the doctor i went to refused to do my usual number of units - so i didn't get as smooth as i usually do - and by the time i would have gone back for a touch up - i knew i was pregnant, and botox was out of the picture.
enter frownies. i've tried several other silicone patch brands because i have some small annoyances with frownies mentioned by other reviewers (you have to tear them apart, they smell funky, and can have a long dry time, etc.). however - frownies are effective. i wear them every night, and my forehead looks great so far!
user tips: mist them with a spray bottle, them set them aside to dry while you do something else for a few minutes......i usually brush my teeth, for example. then, when they are dry enough to curl, stretch the skin on your face and stick them on. for me, the smell is only unpleasant until they dry, which takes about 10s from placement after the curling point.

I had my doubts about these. After talking with an esthetician friend who wears them I thought I would give them a try.I am so pleased. At first the results are temporary, but over time they become more permanent. The wrinkles between my eyes are dramatically improved.I keep a small spray bottle of water by my bedside to mist the shiny side, I rub the water in a little, gently smooth the wrinkled area with my fingers and then apply. I press and hold in place until it adheres. Sleep in them overnight and remove in the morning.After wearing for several weeks I can certainly see a difference and so can others. It also seems to make me more aware of when I make facial expressions that cause that area to wrinkle in the first place, so I find myself relaxing that area more often. Weird.As for the "smell" other complaint about, I'm a little confused about that. I have pretty good sense of smell and it doesn't bother me. It literally smells like a bandaid at first while it's wet but then doesn't smell once the adhesive dries. It also doesn't leave adhesive residue on your skin either, so I have no idea why people are saying that. It's not a glue that stays on your skin. There is literally nothing on you skin. It's like a firm backed bandaid.I have been telling everyone about them. I will continue to buy these amazing little things.

-Papel Kraft (cuando se secan por completo crean una "capa" dura, que no permite la movilidad de los músculos debajo)
-IMPORTANTE y lo mejor de todo, NO SUAVIZA LAS ARRUGAS. SU FUNCIÓN ESPECÍFICA ES ENTRENAR LOS MÚSCULOS FACIALES A MANTENERSE EN SU LUGAR, Y EN CONSECUENCIA ENTRENAR A REDUCIR EXPRESIONES, Y ARRUGAS, A LARGO PLAZO. Es como "tu cara yendo al gimnasio" solo que en vez de mover músculos, interesa todo lo contrario 😉
-A mayor constancia, mayores efectos a largo plazo (NO HAY QUE ESPERAR APLICARLOS UN DÍA, Y QUE SU EFECTO DURE 1 MES, PORQUE NO VA ASÍ)
Tras el primer día de aplicación lo habitual es una sorpresa inmensa por los mágicos resultados tras solo un par de horas (adjunto fotos de mi marido antes y después, tras 1
sola noche de uso con Frownies)
Si no eres constante en la aplicación de los parches sobretodo el primer mes y solo los usas 1 día, hacia el final del día o en un par de días, las arrugas o líneas de expresión volverán a su lugar. (1 día no es suficiente para crear "memoria muscular", igual que solo 1 día en el gimnasio no hará poner en forma tus músculos. Tiene sentido, no?)
-Si las primeras aplicaciones son incómodas o molestan un poco, es NORMAL, tus músculos faciales están demasiado acostumbrados a moverse, eso es lo que está pasando. (A mi la primera semana que los usé recuerdo que hasta me producían "dolor de cabeza")
Tras las primeras aplicaciones, esa sensación se va, y puedo asegurar que incluso te sientes más comod@ y relajad@ con los parches puestos, que sin ellos. 🧘🏻♀️✅
-Fabricados y en mercado desde 1889!!
-Botox natural (no he probado nunca el botox, pero Frownies genera memoria muscular que previene la mayoría de las expresiones y arrugas... Igual que la ciencia tras el botox, que inmoviliza la mayoría de músculos faciales, evitando y previniendo expresiones y arrugas)
TRUCOS DE APLICACIÓN:
-Funcionan parecido a los tatuajes que se aplican con agua (adhesivo se activa en contacto con el agua). Igual que estos tatuajes, si te excedes y pasas con el agua, cuando lo sitúas sobre la piel, qué pasa? El tatuaje se resbala y descoloca.
Solución, no excederse con el agua. (Basta mojar un dedo con agua y pasarlo por la superficie del parche con adhesivo, sin excesos. A mayor cantidad de agua hayas aplicado al parche, mayor tiempo habrá que esperar para aplicarse en la piel, y mayor tiempo para secarse completamente sobre esta)
-No aplicar el parche en la piel justo tras haber aplicado el agua a este.
Yo lo que hago es, echo agua (o agua de rosas) a 3 parches, y los dejo unos segundos en el lavabo con la cara adhesiva boca arriba, para que se les seque el exceso de agua.
CUANDO EL PRIMER PARCHE AL QUE ECHÉ AGUA EMPIEZA A CURVARSE ENCIMA DEL LAVABO, Y NO HAY GOTAS DE AGUA BRILLANTES, ahí es cuando lo cojo, y me lo aplico en la piel (si lo hago antes, como un tatuaje al agua, de nuevo, resbala, o tendría que esperar demasiado tiempo sosteniéndolo con la mano a que termine de secarse y pegarse sobre la piel.)
Y repito el proceso, de 3 parches en 3 parches de nuevo. (3 parches, les froto con el dedo agua, dejo secar unos segundos encima del lavabo, y después aplico)
-MUY IMPORTANTE, SIEMPRE SUPERPONER LOS PARCHES, UNO ENCIMA DE OTRO (en mi imagen se ve como no hay huecos entre un parche y otro, y tampoco están uno al lado del otro. SE APLICAN UNO ENCIMA DEL OTRO, ya que el objetivo es crear una sola "pieza completa final") si dejas huecos, o sitúas uno al lado del otro (no encima) cada parche dejará marcadas varias líneas, y además, no inmovilizará los músculos como debe.
-CREAR UNA PIEZA COMPLETA PARA LA FRENTE, también es importante. (Bajar hacia los ojos no es necesario, pero sí la FRENTE COMPLETA).Pues si solo nos ponemos un parche, o un solo cuadrado en medio de la frente u otro sitio, esa zona y sus músculos no se moverán, correcto, pero como los músculos faciales están habituados a moverse, buscarán otra forma (y otro músculo) para moverse.
-Los triángulos pequeños🔺(parches cortados por la línea de puntos) funcionan mejor que recortando y usando cuadrados completos u otras formas de aplicación de los parches, pues se adaptan mejor a la forma redondeada de la frente (cuanto más grande el parche más difícil)
-Recomiendo el uso de menos parches, o en una sola zona pequeña específica, solo cuando ya se ha pasado al modo "mantenimiento", o para acostumbrarse durante las primeras aplicaciones a la sensación.
-Al retirarlos por la mañana (o tras llevarlos algunas horas) nada de estirar la piel haciéndote un peel off o exfoliación arrancando la piel, por favor. 🙃 Primero mojar abundantemente con agua toda la superficie con parches por encima... y a continuación con la mano mojada, introducir los dedos mojados en un costado por debajo, e ir FROTANDO POR DEBAJO LOS PARCHES, haciendo que el adhesivo se active de nuevo, y resbale y salga CASI SOLO. Así es como se hace👌🏻
-Es normal que al principio parezca difícil su aplicación. No lo es. Es solo hasta que les pilles el punto a los trucos de aplicación, lo prometo.
-En Youtube, Tiktok e Instagram hay disponibles muchos vídeos cortos con trucos y pasos muy útiles para la aplicación de Frownies que son de gran ayuda, pero solo en inglés. Si entiendes el inglés, te invito a verlos.
TRUCOS DE COMPRA Y MOTIVOS DE MI VALORACIÓN:
-Si los usas a diario cubriendo toda la frente, 1 caja durará aproximadamente 1 mes.
-A este mismo vendedor (Farmaventa) le he visto ya varias veces subir el precio de los parches en Amazon, no me parece bien, ni estoy de acuerdo.
-Los primeros parches que compré a este vendedor hace meses los compré a 29.95€ (precio elevado y fuera de mercado), con envío gratis con Amazon Prime.
-A día de hoy, el mismo vendedor, los vende por 34.95€, y aún siendo prime, se te hace pagar el envío aparte. (En total, 37/38€ por cada caja de Frownies, que es UN CHISTE PARA EL QUE NO TENGO PALABRAS 🤯)
-Un poco de conciencia al respecto por favor... En la web oficial de frownies EEUU su precio DURANTE AÑOS han sido entre 21-23 dólares por caja. 23 dólares vienen a ser = 20.93 EUROS. Súmale un 21% de IVA si quieres, para España.
EN TOTAL SON 25.32 EUROS.
NO 34. NI MUCHO MENOS 38 EUROS.
-Solución, comprarlos fuera de Amazon pues en Amazon España no hay más opciones.
Solución 1, varios proveedores externos según preferencias.
Solución 2, página web de Iherb. Precio: 27.47 EUROS por caja. Ventaja: Iherb suele tener códigos descuento y promociones y se pueden conseguir con descuento (queda en 24 EUROS por caja normalmente, con IVA ya incluido y envío gratis si llegas al pedido mínimo necesario) ahorrando mucho dinero a largo plazo, ajustándose al precio original de la marca en EEUU (de donde es originalmente), y sin alimentar ni alentar a vendedores que su único objetivo es sacar más dinero por el mismo producto sin ofrecer nada más y sin argumento.
-DA IGUAL A TRAVÉS DE QUÉ VENDEDOR O PLATAFORMA LOS COMPRES.
LA REGLA ES, SI VALEN MAS DE 25€ CADA CAJA DE FROWNIES, ESTÁS PAGANDO MÁS DE LO QUE DEBERÍAS, y probablemente hasta salga ya más barato una cita para ponerte botox en su lugar!
PRECIO MÁXIMO LÍMITE, 27 EUROS POR CAJA.
POR ELLO MI VALORACIÓN DE 2 ESTRELLAS.
