Growin' up workin' class, the food we ate was limited due to lack of food. We were very food insecure. My dear aunt who is no longer with us used to try to make the best of our situation ( I loved her so much) and tried to make good days out of food brought home from the free line or some kind of church pantry. At the time, I didn't know once she smothered the hot dogs in chilli that they were low quality. When I read the package I saw BAR-S.
As I got older and got a place of my own, I learned about quality, reading labels and bad ingredients.
I didn't notice these BALL PARK hot dogs had all kinds of no-no ingredients In them. The most concerning was CORN SYRUP (BAD) I still purchased anyway. I made em, jazzed em up, diced onions mustard ketchup and steamed the bun. When I took the first bite I was shocked how mushy and gross they were. They tasted like mushy nothingness. No flavor no snap no bite. I was Instantly transported back to days of BAR-S!
I know a good dog when I taste it,this ain't it. Very low quality. I vowed from now on, it's only high quality for me. Back to Hebrew national I go!
