Upgrade to Apple Pencil 2nd Generation

I am an early adopter of technology so when the first Apple Pencil was released I purchased an iPad to use specifically for it. The biggest complaint for me was that the pencil was cylindrical and really had no tactile feel or grip. It worked fine, but was awkward to hold for long use. With the new 2nd Generation Apple Pencil, they at least addressed this issue, as it has more of a feel to it. I purchased for use with my iPad Pro 11" tablet and the cool thing is that the pencil is magnetic and attaches to the iPad and charges at the same time, pretty handy. I haven't had a lot of time with it yet, so I will update after I get some time under my belt with this tool, but so far am impressed overall.

The flat area on the pencil was a master stroke of genius. Improving comfort in the hand and recharging at the same time. Excellent!

As a person with big hands, my comfort level when using is still not high. Let me explain, a tool should feel comfortable in your hand. It should be an extension, a natural extension of yourself. Using a tool should be a value added exercise every time you grab for the that tool. Because of the comfort, the tool becomes fundamental to your personal excellence and brand.

First Gen Apple Pencil, was good, but had issues. Second Gen Apple Pencil is better. Look to the fundamentals of comfort, and I expect great things in the Third Gen Apple Pencil!

Apple Pencil 2: Improved, better but still not perfect

I'm not saying this pen isn't good, it's still very good, arguably the best pen for the iPad Pro - the thing is, apple stuff makes apples. But it's not perfect. If you've held Pencil 1, you probably understand what I mean, as smooth as Apple Pen 1 is, then Apple Pen 2 feels more confident, even a small improvement makes a lot of difference. The Pencil 2 is also slightly beveled on the body, helping it to stick to the iPad Pro, this beveled face also helps us hold the pen more comfortably and has a more fulcrum.

I bought the used one and for one it was slightly bent for some reason and there’s was some cosmetic damage as well because of where it was bent.
It would connect to my iPad but would not function no matter what I tried. Anyway I’m kind of disappointed. I’m sure the working pencil is fine but this one isn’t working and it’s bent lol.

It’s really cute! I dont really use it as much as I thought I would for school. it’s great if you do digital art! Makes me feel fancy lol! Some cons though are that I started to notice little dark marks on the magnetic side of the pencil. My boyfriend said if I attached it to something magnetic that wasn’t the iPad and I said no. So it seems to get burn marks if left on too long.

Great stylus but the tip wears down

Overall it’s a great stylus just as one would expect from apple. Good response, I like the double tap feature and it charges fast. However, I use a textured screen protector and draw a lot. After about a month and a half the tip of mine has been ground down to wear I can see metal. Since I don’t want to buy a new tip all the time I’m getting third party metal ones. I would like to mention that I have some dexterity issues and as a result put a lot of pressure on my pencils, in addition, because it is pressure sensitive if I want to use that feature while drawing I sometimes have to press harder which I’m sure has degraded it further. Overall it’s great but the tip thing really sucks.
