How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

5.0 out of 5 starsI use it on my S7+ tablet which is huge.
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 17, 2023
I use it on my huge tablet and it supports the weight. Now, I did stick it on my cover and not directly to the tablet. If you have a S7+ you know the edges are kinda sharp so a cover is a great idea to protect the tablet. Because the design of the tablet that leaves the cover slightly flimsy do to the cutout for the S pen. OK, nuff said there.
Anyway, the socket works pretty well even on the biggest tablet. It's pretty cool how they work. It is easy to hold and I think it takes a little getting used to. Again huge tablet.
The price is great for the quality which is really good. I say buy one you won't be disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 starsNot worth the hype, doesn't really act as a grip, a bit bulky, buy some other cheaper phone stands
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 9, 2023
Not at all worth the money I paid for. The quality is good and the adhesion to my phone case was excellent along with the ease of taking it off, but it doesn't really act all that well as a grip nor a phone stand. It does allow you to have a better hold onto your phone I'll give it that, but using it in that way is somewhat uncomfortable and it doesn't really allow me to reach the entirety of the screen like I though it would. Using it as a phone stand is alright but there's not much room in terms of customizing the angle at which you view your phone and it isn't possible to hold the phone vertically. The PopSocket also sticks out a fair bit and is prone to hooking onto different parts for pocket when taken out making it somewhat a chore of having to make sure that the phone comes out cleanly.
If you want a phone stand, I suggest buying one of those skinny flip out ones you stick to the bottom of the backside of your phone case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Broke day 1, but my replacement has been fine
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 7, 2023

This broke the first day I used it, so I had doubts about the authenticity. I was able to return it and get a new one, but it was kind of inconvenient for me to have to send back the old one for such a cheap item. I would have preferred just sending a picture of the broken one, instead of having to ship it back. It defeats the purpose of ordering online when you end up having to make a trip out for the item anyway lol. But I'll still give it a 4 stars, because the replacement seems to be holding up fine and of decent quality. I can't stand using a phone without a pop socket, they're really a cell phone staple for me!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great pop socket!
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 20, 2023

I love this pop socket. I stuck it on one of my cases as soon as I got it. It sticks perfectly and it’s great for propping my phone in lots of ways. The only things I’d say to watch out for is that it scratches easily and doesn’t stay completely white, also if you take off the top a ton like I did it might come off on it’s own but I took it off a lot and put it back on so it shouldn’t be a problem and these things didn’t bother me.

It's a pretty decent PopSocket. Attached it to my phone case and there it stayed. It has never peeled off. My hand fatigue from holding my phone has decreased alot. I haven't dropped my phone on my face since I bought it. Will definitely purchase another one when I need one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Version 2? Functional with Trade Off
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 4, 2021

This is a different version that the one I used to own. The pop out part is on the cap (push down and twist like medical pill bottle to release) and not at the base (pop out 4 holding grooves to release). This version technically has wireless charging compatible (more on this later). If you have a lot of the older version popsocket, know that the caps don’t work on the new version.

Been using popsockets for at least half a decade now. Very functional with some minor inconveniences that I must work around, but overall worked well for me.

What I love about is it that it provides better grip when holding the phone. Now if I use a phone without it in public, feels like anyone can snatch my phone off my hand at any second, or I’m afraid I may accidently slip off my hand and drop the floor

Can get better reach with fingers while still providing grip on the phone if you carry a larger phone.

Also great as tabletop/kicks stand when I need it. Tend to use it all the time when watching steaming videos while eating or on casual video calls. No need to bring additional stand accessory

There are some official accessories for it that I use, but also made some DIY ones. For example, if you have magnet attachment phone mount, you can disassemble the popsocket and put the metal plate inside with tape, and make it attach to magnetic surfaces (This only works with older version and not this one)

This version can wirelessly charge if you attach it on your phone directly with no case. But the charging speed is not as fast than without popsocket

Adhesive works well on all phones case surfaces I currently own. Heard from a co-worker that it didn’t work for them when they used it on items with waterproof surfaces

If you have accessories that holds the popsocket in place; I wouldn’t use the popsocket on them for at least 24 hours so it doesn’t peel itself off due to gravity during initial adhesion period.

Extremely strong. Unless you intentionally use excessive force, it won’t fall off. Peeling the popsocket off can leave stains depending how long you had it on. With some cleaning tools can scrap it off without leaving much residue. Use hand sanitzer to take off the residue, better than using soup or just water.
To take it off once it’s stuck on you must use fingernails (will not work if you have long nails) or a thin flat head screw driver around the circumference

They are durable. Aside from paint wearing off overtime, the first one I own still works like it did day 1. I’m not rough with my popsocket or phones so may want to take that under consideration (?)

-Cons of the popsocket can be worked around.

It adds thickness. As thick or slightly thicker than your phone without a case, making it 2x thicker at one location. If you wear tight pants/jeans, there will get a budge, especially if you put it in your back pocket.

Seeing the bulge is not uniform can wobble when typing on phone on a flat surface.

If you stick the popsocket on the phone directly, may interfere with some of its functionality such as wireless charging (if you have the older version). That’s why I always opt to put it on a case.

Never happened to me, but my co-worker said it get snatched onto things when trying to pull it out of her purse. Maybe she has way too many stuff in there, or the fact that I always carry my phone in my pocket or dedicated pocket in my backpack.

Overall, despite the negatives I find it very useful for daily tasks.

Usually by now I've had to super glue my popit back on because it's fell off. I'm very happy and impressed at how long this one has lasted. Took a lot longer to arrive than I expected, which was my fault I guess I didn't look before purchasing. Overall great buy!

I had my old pop socket for ages, but he did that the round puck was held on with three little ridges and fell off constantly. Not anymore! Someone at pop socket definitely deserves a raise! This new design works much better! Though this one is only black, you can also purchase additional designs and switch them out easily without peeling off the sticky backing. :)

I bought this to replace my pipsocket when I got a new phone case. I Luke that you can swap the top so I was able to keep my Disney pop on top and just ad a new base. I am hard on my pop sockets and they have always held up amazing! I will never be without one again

The product would not stick to my silicone surface on my phone, there is no warnings about this. I literally wasted my money on this.
