Update: Anker contacted me (quickly) and offered a refund for the defective cable, and I ordered another set that is working as expected. I've used their cables for many years before this, with no issues, so I assume my one bad cable is a fluke. I appreciate their quick follow up to "make it right", so I won't ding them or the product unless it fails again. Super happy with Anker in this process. Also, Anker specifically said that they did NOT condition their support and/or refund on me changing my review, which I was very impressed with.
So I use both cables on the Anker 747 charger - FANTASTIC charging speeds. Then suddenly... it wasn't. I really take care of these cables, wrap them up gently, but plugged two Galaxy S23 Ultras at the same time today, and one was charging at less than half the speed of the other. Long story short - I tried everything. Switched ports on the charger, removed other phone from charger, restarted phone, looked for updates. Nothing helped. Then swapped out the cable, and just like magic, the phone charges super fast again. Not sure what happened to this cable, but the charging speed appears to be down to between 33% (1/3rd) and 50% (1/2) of what it originally charged out of the box, after perhaps 15 uses over 3 months. Very sad. Not what I would expect of an Anker product.
