5.0 out of 5 starsVersatile battery pack that works well
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 12, 2023
This is a powerful, versatile battery pack that can work with just about any device. The form factor is a bit different, as it's not a flat slab, but instead a more square shape but tall. It has a small, but useful OLED screen that gives you a more detailed status than just a few lights. Two USB C and 1 USB A port are versatile enough for most applications. Due to the higher (but not the highest possible) capacity, this is a good battery pack to take on a trip where you might need extended power, but just keep in mind that it's also not light so it's not something you would carry every day. I do like the form factor and I think this makes it a bit easier to carry. When in use, you can stand it up on end or lay it down, which also gives you flexability.

One unexpected thing I found is that you can not only charge a Nintendo Switch, but you can use it to power the dock. Usually if you try to use a non-Nintendo USB C power adapter to power the dock, you get a message that says you need to use the official power adapter; however, this battery will work. Note that you still need to have some way to power the monitor, so I question the usefulness of powering the dock with a battery, but it does work. If you're bringing your switch and dock to a friend's house, you could connect to their TV and use the battery rather than having to ask them to plug into an extra power outlet.

This pack comes with a carrying pouch with a drawstring closure. Nice bonus to keep your pack from getting scuffed up while traveling. There's also room to throw a cable or two in the pouch too, in order to keep everything together.

One thing I did notice is that this pack seems to have a bit of self-discharge when not in use. I fully charged it to 100%, came back a few weeks later, and the display said it was at 97% even though I didn't use it at all. This is not awful, but it also means you can't charge it up, throw it in a drawer, and expect to come back a year later to a full charge. If you expect to use it, you should plan ahead and make sure it is topped off ahead of time. This makes a bit less ideal for use in emergencies.

The only other downside is that it is not exactly the very top capacity allowed for air travel. It's close, but not quiet there. The Anker Powercore III Elite 26k has a bit more power and can still be taken on an airplane. But the difference is small, so this is still a great high capacity choice.

PROS:
* Nice form factor, can lay down or stand up for less desk space usage
* Two USB C and one USB A port gives versatility
* OLED screen gives detailed usage stats, not just a capacity indicator
* 140W charge & delivery means fast charge and wide device support
* Can power all but the very most demanding laptops
* Can power a Nintendo Switch dock
* Comes with a decent storage pouch
* Priced competitively when on sale
* Nice build quality, rubber sides for good gripability

CONS:
* Comes with a USB C cable, but no charging brick included (not a huge CON)
* Not the max capacity allowed for air travel - could have had a bit more
* Heavy for every day use - better for travel on longer trips
* Might have slight self-discharge over time
* Finish is nice, but seems like it could get scuffed/scratched easily

Conclusion: I had a dilemma to get this or the Powercore III Elite 26k. This one was a bit cheaper and seemed to have more features, but not quite as much total capacity. Ultimately I ended up buying both, but if I had to choose one and had prior experience with both, I would choose this one for the added features, higher charge/discharge rating, better form factor, and ability to power a Nintendo Switch dock. If you're on the fence between the two, get this one. If you're looking at cheaper alternative brands, spend the extra money and get this one as the quality is worth it.

2.0 out of 5 starsNot what is advertised, very slow charging
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 5, 2023
I have mixed feelings on this charger, but absolutely do not believe it's worth the full price. They claim 140W charging, but I do not believe that to be true. I can't charge it beyond 45W when using a 65W charger with it (granted it could probably charge faster if I had a faster power brick). Charge speed of the powerbank is not my primary concern.

In a teardown video, it's shown there are 4 batteries at 4,000mAh. So my math shows their battery power is at 16,000mAh, not 26mAh, as advertised. While I've always thought highly of Anker, lying about what you are purchasing is not a good look and has killed my thoughts on the company as clearly their standards are not as high as I thought.

I also found charge times to be so slow, you'd absolutely be better off going out of your way to find power than to use this product. Here is what I found in testing:

> Charging OnePlus 8T (capable of hitting 65W over 10V @6.5A with total capacity of 4500mAh) can only charge between 5-12W with an average of 10.1W. It did hit 20W for the first 10-30 seconds, but quickly dropped. While normal top up from 0-100% takes 30-35 minutes, it took 1 hour and 41 minutes to charge from 15% to 100%, which is the longest charge time I've ever seen on this phone. Even the older style USB cables plugged in on a random USB port typically charge at 18W on average, so this product instantly disappointed. So my phone took around 3.5x longer to charge using this powerbank.

> Charging OnePlus Earbuds on a Rapid Charger typically takes around 10-12 minutes to charge from 0-100%. This product has a 520mAh battery. Charging on this charger they averaged only 2W of output power from the powerbank and took 40 minutes to charge from 30%. So my earbuds take well over 3x to charge to full when you account for the extra 30% the earbuds still had.

> Charging my Dell XPS 13 Laptop with a ~7,027mAh battery was the only time the powerbank came close to it's advertised charging speeds. It was capable of averageing 41.5W, with the max supported XPS charge speed of 45W (so the only product I actually got proper speeds). This depleted the Anker battery quickly and showed that the Anker powerbank is absolutely lying about their battery capacity because it depletes the entirety of the Anker battery before the laptop can charge to 100% after charging the 2 devices above 1 time each, neither from 0%.

Total charge between all the devices: ~3-5x longer than if you have AC power, absolutely does not reach anywhere near 140W of output as most fast charge batteries require cooling to be done on the power brick, which this device isn't capable of. While a theoretical maximum of 140W output might be possible if all the cooling is done on the device end and not the charging end, these are largely false claims made by Anker which I can prove do not line up to normal real world charging speeds unless you happen to have a device that doesn't support standardized fast charging (circa 2023 standards).

Would not recommend product if you are concerned about charging times or actual charging capacity.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as great as older alternatives in this price range and power bank size
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 22, 2022

I haven't had an opportunity to truly test the 140W output but it definitely has the 100W output. Anker does provide an apparently 140W-capable USB-C to USB-C cable.

I don't have a 140W charger but I was able to charge this device with a 100W charger without issue. As with any battery, your charging doesn't stay at 100W for long but, depending on the state of charge, it can stay in the 70-80W's for a while.

This leads me to the fact that this is a 2-star product though. You cannot charge this device AND other devices from this power bank at the exact same time at those speeds though. In other words, if you are charging this power bank AND charging devices FROM this power bank at the exact same time, the speed or watts it can charge both ways is VERY DISAPPOINTING. I saw only 10W going into the power bank using a 100W power adapter and 10W going out to charge a device connected to this power bank. This is unacceptable for a power bank in this price range that can charge at much faster speeds one way. Not being able to do both charging itself at high speeds and connected devices makes this quite the travel-unfriendly device and not worth the price tag. You should look elsewhere if this power bank is going to be consistently used.

There is no case provided and, at this price point, that's just not okay. Other power banks at this size AND price provide at least a case to carry the powerbank and one-two cords with. Anker only gives you a unprotective bag.

The colored screen is nice and matches the price tag. It is only able to display information in two ways (upside down or rightside up) depending on which way you're holding it or it's laying down. In other words, it can only rotate 180 degrees. The screen is unable to rotate 90 degrees because of the screen orientation.

2.0 out of 5 stars Full price for previously used product?

I received my power bank with the box looking damaged and also product seal stickers already loose with indents around the stickers, which leads me to believe someone unboxed this before I had the opportunity to receive it. After opening the box I discovered that the bank itself had been removed from the plastic sleeve it is packaged in as the sleeve already had tears where someone opened this in a rush and the sleeve was warped where the adhesive strip is as well, I was confirmed when i took the power bank out of the sleeve to find that the protective cover for the LCD screen was already removed and stuck on the back of the sleeve. I haven't even plugged this in yet and this is my first impression with this product and it hasn't been a great experience so far. I'm going to leave this at 2 stars in hopes that the product actually works, but had i known that i was buying a used piece of equipment I wouldn't have paid that kind of premium price. It's completely dead on arrival, which in my experience has never been the case with any anker product as I own exclusively nothing, but Anker Banks/cords/chargers. Hopefully the person who used this before I owned it didn't misuse it in anyway...
I'm going to probably start the return after I'm done writing this out, I'm highly disappointed in Anker.

2.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced and underperforming
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 28, 2022

I opened this and it's definitely a heavy boy. It looks well made and put together, and the screen is nice.

Here's the problems and why you shouldn't buy it.

Huge problem #1
If you run any MFi specced usb c to lightning cable, there is a tiny parasitic drain that shows up on the screen at .1W. Doesn't matter if its an anker branded cable (I ordered these too just to test) or the genuine apple cables. If you plug it in, and don't plug in your phone, it will run the bank down to 0. This means you can't just leave your cables hanging in your bank to use them when necessary.

Huge problem #2
This thing claims to push 140w. Perhaps on one device. Plug in 2 Iphones and one Pixel 6 and guess what, none of them will push more than 7-8w. How about one iphone and one pixel 6? Same story. Two iphones? You guessed it. How about if you use a USB A to lightning cable for one iphone and another MFi usb c to lightning cable for the other? Surely the MFi spec one will push at full 20w right? Nope.
Charging multiple devices on this at the same time is worthless. You will not push more than 10w to any one device. Doesn't matter if its an Ipad, or laptop, or anything else.

If this thing was 50 bucks, I'd say go for it. The problem is there is, anker has got too big for it's britches and forgets it's roots: It's just another Chinese brand.

2.0 out of 5 stars 140? Not sure how they measure that!
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 21, 2022

First, the good. The screen is a great addition to the battery bank, and let's me know when I grabbed a lower rated cable for charging. It seems to have roughly the designed power available, and the pass-through charging is great.

The bad. With the battery bank size, when charging at higher wattage, you will run out of battery fast! This isn't any different than any similar sized bank. Mine does not charge or discharge at 140 watts out of a single port. The max I've gotten discharging is about 87-88 into a Dell laptop that takes 130w usb in from the Dell charger. Pretty sure the Dell laptops only charge at 90w with a non-dell usb charger.

I can get it charging at 87-88 max, with an anker 737 140w USB charger and cable.

That said, charging the battery pack at 88w gets it filled up FAST. It takes about 5 minutes to gain 10%. I'm happy with the power bank, but disappointed in the wattage rating. If it was listed at 100, I'd be happier.

I ordered and received the power bank. It is heavy for its size and it takes forever to charge. It arrived with 26% capacity and the next 2 days charging only brought it to 86%. I noticed when trying to turn the display on or trying to change the screens that it takes many button presses to get it to work or make a screen change. After chatting with Amazon they issued a replacement order so this one is going back and seems defective. Hope the new replacement is better with the button and display or screen changes. Disappointed that the Anker power bank 24K is defective and we have to make an extra trip to return it and then go through another several days of charging the replacement before we get to use it again. Will update this when replacement arrives and if there are any issues with it. 1/3/23

Pro: Unit is sleek and attractive with plenty of data provided on screen.
Con: Provides mediocre performance when compared to other alternatives.

I bought this thing with high hopes, but quickly realized that my Milwauke M18 top off with a 5.0ah battery does a better job than this thing and the batteries recharge quicker with more utility. Seriously, this unit onl puts out <90wh. An 18v 5.0ah battery does slightly more than this unit and still stays under the TSA flight limits. Returning this Anker product.

When I first got this product I charged it fully and tested it recharging my laptop and I loved it.

However after that I recharged it and put it in my laptop bag at 100 percent, when I came back to it a few weeks later it was at 4 percent.

It completely lost its charge over a period of 2 to 3 weeks unused.

If you plan to only charge it up and use it before a trip it'll work great but If you need a device that can be prepped ahead of time for when you need it this won't work.

It always on means power is always drained even if you are not charging anything. See the pictures.

I turned on always display on option and realized that usb -a port is continuously eating the power its very little 0.1w but the point is its faulty product. There are many similar power banks out there In half price with more features.

I like anker products but the fact is not all products are good and as they promise and they are not cheap.

I spent $100 for this power bank i did all kind of tests with their own anker wires. and the results are not even close as you might seen in the you tube videos.
