5.0 out of 5 starsVery fast and compact
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 27, 2023
Very compact and powerful charger. 3 ports to charge a laptop, ipad, and your phone at the same time. I like how it has distributed power management. Keep in mind charging 2 laptops may be slow. If you plan on charging 2 laptops, then I recommend buying the higher model: Anker 737 (120W GanPrime) charger although these chargers themselves are a bit expensive. I personally charge a Macbook Air M1 and an Ipad Air 4th gen and speeds are fast.
It charges my Macbook in about 90 min vs 140+ min using the original charger. The charger itself is very efficient at charging.
Only thing I dislike is that this charger is not powerful enough to charge a Macbook Pro M1/M2 Pro 14/16 inch. Very rarely charging disconnects and then re-charges but only happened when plugging in a specific item.

3.0 out of 5 starsGreat charger… unless you have an Apple Watch
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 22, 2023
This charger is fantastic in basically every situation except mine. It’ll charge my MacBook Air and iPhone at max speeds with a third USB-A port to spare. It’s small, fast, and convenient for travel. It can struggle in looser wall ports (and that suction-cup thing is useless), but that’s a minor gripe for me and I’ve never had that wreck my use of it.

HOWEVER, if you use that third port specifically for an Apple Watch and are using this charger for extended periods, I’d look elsewhere. This charger WILL NOT CHARGE an Apple Watch through that USB-A port after a day or so without you unplugging the cord and plugging it back in. This issue is known by Anker but is poorly communicated by their marketing. My understanding is it’s a side-effect of (otherwise good) design choices made by both Anker and Apple, and hinges on how their intelligent power delivery systems work (so do your research on other Anker products, too). I was hoping to use this charger for my laptop, phone, and watch while living away from home temporarily. I wanted a single plug I could use for all three and tuck it behind a nightstand. Sadly, I have to get a second plug now, which 100% defeats the purpose of buying this brick over the dozens of competitors. I know it’s another minor gripe, but I bought this specific brick to be a one-stop-shop. It shouldn’t be this complicated. If you’re in my situation, get a different charger.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unable to power Anker 335 Wireless Charging Station with 2 USB-C devices plugged in.
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 17, 2023
Color: Phantom BlackVerified Purchase
Recently purchased this to try and charge my nightstand devices with a single wall wart:
* Galaxy Watch 5 (comes with 2 USB-C charging pucks)
* iPad (via USB-C -> Lightning)
* Anker 335 Wireless Charging Station (via USB-A) which would in turn charge my S20+ and Galaxy Buds Pro 2.
The Wireless Charging Station comes with an 18W Anker wall wart which is sufficient for charging my phones and ear buds. Didn't even bother checking the charge rate since the primary use case is overnight charging which is plenty of time to get back to full.
When plugging the wireless charging station into the USB-A port of this device (the Anker 735 GaNPrime) it works fine. If I plug my watch into the second USB-C port, the wireless charging station starts blinking which is the indicator for "I'm not getting enough power".
If I move my watch to the first USB-C port(read: low power device), the wireless charging station works normally.
If I plug the iPad cable into the second USB-C port, the charging station starts blinking again. Note that this happens even if the iPad isn't plugged in.

Anker claims a combined the following:
* 65W across all 3 ports
* max 22.5W on the USB-A port with 1 device
* max 24W between the 2nd USB-C port and the USB-A port if charging 2 devices.

Despite all of the newest fanciest technology, this device appears to have a hard cap on USB-A power whenever using the second port thus making it completely unsuitable for the task that I gave it. Effectively making it a very overpriced 2 port charger. Considering all of the downsides (weird awkward shape/design that is mostly only suitable for vertical use, cost, etc.), I decided to return it in favor of multiple cheaper/smaller USB-C wall warts as any number of USB-A wall warts will do a better job than this will.

1.0 out of 5 stars Anker 735 GaNPrime 65 watt
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 3, 2023
Color: Phantom BlackVerified Purchase
It's a 40 watt adapter (total) if you want to use more than one port.

It's only redeeming quality is that it almost does it's rated 65 watt output while using either the top or second USB-C port. It tops out at around 62 watts... but... if you plug anything else up to it, it completely falls on its face. With my laptop coasting at just over 60 watts on the top USB-C port, I got ambitious and plugged my cell phone into the second USB-C plug... FAIL!! The first USB-C port drops to around 30 watts, never goes above that, with the second USB port at only 9 watts. Mind you, this is with nothing plugged in to the USB-A port. Plug a third item into the USB-A port and things get even worse.

Another failure; it doesn't communicate properly my DJI drone. Will only charge the battery at 18 watts while literally every other charger I've tested will charge it at 29 or 30 watts.

I hate to be Captain Obvious on this one Anker, but when someone purchases a USB power adapter with 3 ports... they're most likely wanting to use more than one port.

In no alternate universe should this failure of a product be rated at 4 and a half stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Failed in Less Than Six Months
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 9, 2023
Color: Phantom BlackVerified Purchase
I bought this charger through Amazon from AnkerDirect in "Used - Like New" condition, saving a tiny amount compared to today's price on Amazon. Getting this small saving appears to have been a big mistake.

The charger failed when I was away from home. Being the only charger that I was carrying, this created all the difficulties that could be expected.

Anker informed me that the "Like New" in the charger’s description did not extend to its warranty - which was 3 months. They offered me small refund if I was to purchase another product from them.

It didn’t make sense to me to follow an undefined refund process to get this small amount back on the repurchase of a product / brand that I no longer trusted.

My “Used – Like New”, but now defunct Anker charger is now a paper weight.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not charge 3 devices at once
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 23, 2023
Color: Phantom BlackVerified Purchase
I've used many Anker chargers and cables - Was really looking forward to this one since it's one charging block for effectively 3 devices. Nowadays, I'm always trying to fight for power outlet space and just having one adapter makes a big difference.

However, the charger only works well with 2 devices plugged in and once you hit 3, there seems to be some capacity or power allocation issues. Not all 3 devices seem to be able to charge together but wish it did since it would of been a great solution for me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn’t charge three devices simultaneously properly.
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 12, 2023

Here is what the Power IQ4 technology does per the Anker website. “Detects power needs of connected devices in real time. Dynamically distributes
charging power between devices.”

After a long day, I want to charge my iPad Pro, my iPhone 11 Pro Max, and my Apple Watch. I connect the iPad Pro to the USB-C 1 port, the iPhone to the USB-C 2 port, and the Apple Watch to the USB-A port. Now the fun starts.

I noticed that my phone would make a “ding” as if the power was first plugged in and as the same time, my Apple Watch would stop charging. After a very short while, the Apple Watch would stop charging and the iPhone starts to charge again. All the while, my phone screen and my watch screen are turning on and off and the charging chime is dinging. Apart from the dinging and the screens turning on and off, I’m not even sure if this constant on and off charging is safe for my devices.

I bought three of these and they all did this (as other reviewers have mentioned).

1.0 out of 5 stars Constantly stops charging

Purchased this for the three ports and fast charging, but this product has a major fault. When plugging devices into both the USB-C and USB-A ports, the USB-A port will constantly turn on off on off and stop charging your device. Can't be good for electronics... When I unplug devices from the USB-C ports the USB-A charging port works as expected with no interruption to charging.

1.0 out of 5 stars Downgrade from previous non-"GaN Prime" version
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 9, 2023
Color: Phantom BlackVerified Purchase
I own both the 735 and 735 GaN Prime (this supposedly "upgraded" version). Unfortunately the Prime is a downgrade. I love the base 735, but the new one won't work with a Mophie 3-in-1 travel charger (which has MagSafe for iPhone, an Apple Watch charger, and a Qi pad for eg AirPods). No matter whether you plug in just the Mophie, a Mophie and an iPad Pro or MacBook Pro, etc, the Mophie just never receives power with the 735 GaN Prime but works fine with the old 735.

I bought two of these for gifts to work go with the Mophie travel setups as an ultimate hotel nightstand solution but they don't work. Confirmed that using the same cables and charging pads with the old 735 or the included Mophie plug works fine.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cuts in and out constantly

Same issue as some other reviewers - it cuts in and out constantly. One for one second, off for one secod.
Happens even when charging just one device. I've tried multiple cables and even returned the product and bought another one just in case it was defective. I'm afraid it may have damaged the batteries on my devices after a few days of this.

Also, agree it's too heavy and doesn't stay in the port well. No chance of using loose ports (airport, etc)

General fan of Anker stuff but this product is not good, sorry.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pulses on and off all the time. Not good, it is being returned.
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 16, 2023

I should have looked at reviews…. Anker gear is usually good, but with 2 iPhones connected 1 USB A and 1 USB C it pushes the power on and off, on and off. Not good. Not even trying to pull a lot of load. I have tried different outlets but nope, still does it.
There is something wrong with the circuitry here.
This is going back, which is a PITA as it is my travel charger for work and I am currently traveling with no alternative charger available. I need the power of the charger for phones and/or laptop, but I have not even tried 3 items simultaneously yet and I am not sure I want to.
Very disappointed with this and now questioning all the good reviews as there are clearly more than just me having a similar issue.
