5.0 out of 5 starsNC9 vs NC9 PRO vs T12 PRO
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 10, 2022
There are so many products from TOZO, it was difficult to choose the "best." I purchased the NC9 model and was impressed. But the T12 and other models' specs and features seemed so tempting! Are the NC9 really the best? I reached out to the company, but didn't get a clear answer.

So, I decided to test. I purchased the NC9 Pro and the T12 Pro. I only purchased the TOZO products with the largest driver diameter because I want to hear deep bass when listening to music. I also like to listen to music in bed; earbuds which will not fall out or be uncomfortable when placing my ear on a pillow are a must. Here are the differences I noted, and my recommendations.

THE "TOZO SOUND" MOBILE APP

Which TOZO devices are compatible with the TOZO Sound app?
- The TOZO Sound app is currently compatible with models T6S, T10S, NC2 Pro, NC7 Pro, NC9 Pro and NC9 Pro Max.
- The NC9 Pro Max model doesn't appear to be available as of this writing.
- From the products I tested, only the NC9 Pro works with the app.
- The T12 Pro and NC9 are not recognized by the app.

The TOZO Sound mobile app main features:
- Equalizer that actually works
- Programmable earbud button controls
- More noise canceling options, including custom mode
(must use app to set - extra modes don't cycle when pressing the earbuds button).

PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES

The NC9 and NC9 Pro are essentially the same, except:
- The NC9 Pro has updated voice/sound feedback and seems to respond a little faster.
- The NC9 Pro works with the TOZO Sound mobile app.
- Slight cosmetic differences (more below).
- Both the NC9 and NC9 Pro models feature active noise canceling and transparent mode.

The T12 Pro earbuds and charger feature a different design.
- The overall size is about the same as the NC9/NC9 Pro, but more round.
- The earbuds are designed to fit a little deeper in the ear canal.
- The T12 Pro features a larger "power bank" charging case with detailed battery stats.
- The T12 Pro does not feature any noise canceling or transparent modes.

MINOR DIFFERENCES

- The NC9 Pro earbuds have "TOZO" printed on the outside and "L" and "R" printed on the inside.
- The NC9 earbuds have "L" and "R" printed on the outside, TOZO on the inside.
- The T12 Pro has detailed charger and earbud battery stats.
- The NC9 and NC9 Pro have simple indicator lights.
- The NC9 Pro charging case lights blink faster than the NC9 when the case is charging.
- The NC9 pairs once you take the earbuds out of the charging case.
- The NC9 Pro and T12 Pro will pair as soon as you open the charging case lid.

SOUND QUALITY DIFFERENCES

T12 Pro
- The T12 Pro earbuds feature the deepest bass, though it's only a little more than the NC9/NC9 Pro.
- They seem to be factory-tuned for big bass with slightly muted mid and higher frequencies.

NC9/NC9 Pro
- The NC9 and NC9 Pro are factory-tuned with louder, clear vocals and highs, and still have rich bass.

NC9 Pro Advantage "Cheat Mode"
- With the TOZO Sound app "Bass +" equalizer setting, the NC9 Pro can be tuned to produce as much bass as the T12 Pro,
- All while keeping the clear vocals and highs.

ACTIVE NOISE CANCELING & TRANSPARENT MODE - WHAT TO EXPECT

It is my opinion that the active noise canceling and "transparent mode" features in the NC9/NC9 Pro are just too good to pass up. However, they don't block ALL sounds. Here's what to expect.

Active Noise Canceling:
- Works great for erasing continuous "white noise" from wind, airplanes, cars, fans, machinery, etc.
- Really erases most white noise. Airplane noise gone. Car noise gone. Yes, that too.
- Doesn't block all shorter or sharp sounds.
- Doesn't block all rain noise.
- You'll still hear muffled sounds of people talking, dogs barking, etc.
- You'll still hear some white noise if wearing earbud seals too small for your ear.

Transparent Mode:
- Great for hearing people talking, airlines announcements, etc. while wearing earbuds.
- Depending on the volume, you may need to pause your music to clearly hear outside noise.
- Also amplifies white noise; it may not be so great to use this mode all the time.

ANC Off - Standard Mode:
- Still blocks some sounds, but doesn't block white noise.
- You'll hear muffled sounds of people talking, dogs barking, etc.
- NC9/NC9 Pro earbud batteries really last over 10 hours when using this mode (about 30% volume).
- Perfect in a quieter environment when you don't have to pay attention to others talking.

RECOMMENDATIONS - TL;DR

Please keep in mind: all of these TOZO models sound great. If you're used to laptop speakers or the tiny, wired earbuds included with your mobile device, you'll likely be amazed at the sound quality difference.

NC9 Pro: In my opinion, the NC9 Pro provides the best choice of features in regards to app-adjustable sound and noise cancelation. If you love these features, don't need the power bank charger feature of the T12 Pro, and don't mind the higher price, the NC9 Pro may be your best choice.

NC9: The NC9 model sounds great and works well. To be honest, I often set my NC9 Pro equalizer feature to flat/standard because "bass +" is just too much bass. So, my NC9 sounds the same as my NC9 Pro. Considering the lower price point, the NC9 is very tempting.

T12 Pro: If you must have the power bank charger feature, and the noise canceling or app features don't appeal to you, the T12 may be for you. Still, may I recommend the NC9?

T12: In my opinion, this model doesn't offer any advantages over the NC9 (no power bank charger). Buy the NC9 instead.

MISC NOTES - PROS/CONS

- In all models I tested, the microphones pick up loud outside noise (i.e. airports arrivals area), which makes it difficult to use for calling (your friend can't hear you). They work well in quieter environments.

- I have smaller ears. I found the NC9/NC9 Pro earbuds fit better and were more comfortable than the T12 earbuds, especially when placing my ear on a pillow. Even though they're similar in size, the T12 earbuds seem to stick out of my ears more. They may work better for people with larger ears.

- The earbud buttons on all models are very sensitive. They'll trigger if you accidentally touch them with your arm, hand, etc.

- When skipping tracks, I've found it's easier to just lightly double-tap the earbud button with the palm of my hand, or even my arm, than to try to locate it with a finger.

3.0 out of 5 starsDecent, but quality Varies depending on use

This is the 2nd time i buy these....because well i had them in the case...and the case wasn't a smooth seal fit like it shows in the pictures (trust me i made sure i had it push in fully...false advertisement? faulty case?...any ways that's a different story on to the product review.

Our Company was looking to upgrade from The old Foam ear plugs and ear muff like designs (walkers werent a option due to other ppe) mainly for our Production and Engineering team we looked at a few options and came to a few must haves like :

* Noise Canceling but a option for some sort of "alert" or Ambient sound option , in this case the Products Transparency Mode*

*water / Sweat resistance IP6+*

*At least 4 hours on a single charge - since staff can sneak in a charge during their breaks (15 + 30 + 15 + plus any down time they might have out of the production area and when they are in the office*

*Due to loud noise /Environment we figure it should be Bluetooth and paired to their phones to make communicating even better when the engineers were running diagnostics - Check basically don't need to shell out for walkies... and just add a incentive

*Protective Case for the buds Charging Case preferably sold by the buds manufacturer to avoid product flaws with the case [not fitting or incompatible, cheap quality etc] * - check....but mines was Very...small it fit the charging case but not fully like shown in the Amazon pictures (basically like fitting into pants and your gut hanging out, case also didn't have a sort of latch to secure the charging case from opening unintentionally

*Protective case with a latch to keep the charging case secure and avoid it from falling out and get damaged or lost* - Failed - looked good on site but upon arrival it had no sort of "Latch" to secure it shut , and the protective Case did not fully secure over the entire Charging case*

*Protection over the charging port or wireless Alternative* - PASS/Fail
Product failed because even with the protective Case it did not cover the Charging Port at the rear of the Buds Charging Case, our concern was charging issues down the line as the port would get filled with dust and fine powders (something we have noticed with the company phones making their handheld use restricted more to speakerphones)
Product Passed and went on for Testing thanks to it Wireless charging option for the case

*Easy cleaning the goal to easily clean the buds and inside the case to keep it free of dusts and Powders* Product did decently I'd say 3.5 out of 5 due to the mentioned "Exposed" Charging Port long as the case still stays closed we noticed no Dust or powder made it's way fully inside just on the outer edges of the case.

*Option to display Battery life on the device or case - not required but a nice option* Fail /Nay this device has no option that displays the battery level of the buds on your phone or on the case but i have seen they have another model that does
(shame there is no way to compare the differences between the products)

Now the personal Review- i submitted my feed back , and figured i do the same here

Earbuds size are nice and compact, you notice them but they aren't a Burden.

Both Buds also have the Bluetooth antenna...or what not so if you want to use one bud you aren't restricted to using a specific side (in my experience with older brands only one bud would have it forcing you to use that side , - sony and ankers case it was the right Bud, you couldn't use the left Bud solo as it automatically tried looking for the right bud and was unable to connect to your phone

Earbud texture and quality- have tried different earbuds for personal use (Anker , Sony , Bose , Beats, airpods, Samsung etc) each brand tends to have their gimmick / Design signature, Ear buds are of a smooth plastic, and i thought it was great until the Right Earbud cut my the inner bit of my ear, i took it off and confirmed , a bit of the plastic frame where the ends meet was kinda sharp had to...well sand it down a bit until it felt smooth (i think it probably should of been removed during manufacturing since it was a bit protruding)

Water /sweat Resistance- no complaints it looks like it worked perfectly fine

Sound Quality is pretty nice although i had calls seem to be choppy where it looks the it cut off the call this could be user/ Device error on my end or the callers.

Transparency Mode - it works pretty great good for drowning out loud noise but leave out the important noise like... back up chimes, Horns and machinery

NC - Noise Canceling quality is pretty good

Earbud Charging/Storage protective case - Bought the Protective case that wraps around the earbuds charging/storage case and immediately saw it didn't fit , i ensured it had no slack so the case was smaller and didn't fully wrap around the case like the photos advertise on the items page, it also leaves the charging port exposed to pick up lint and other stuff from your pocket and surrounds, since i work in a environment where the work area is dusty...i kept that in mind.

Well yesterday i had the Right earbud in and the left bud in the case in the protective case clipped onto my belt loop...and it fell out

Then the Remaining ear bud broke in the area where it holds the silicone bud when i was trying to swap it out for a bigger size

Have now learned my lesson...to keep it in my pocket could be it was defective...

sadly had to buy a 2nd since it's cheap priced for the quality....literally about $20 to $40 bucks more than the similar or almost similar like earbuds you find at retail stores like Marshalls, Tj max etc

Hopefully the review is able to help some people out and i be sure to post a update with the 2nd Pair (purchased the exact same with the case again,

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Wireless Earbuds for the Price!
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 30, 2022
Color: Matte BlackVerified Purchase
Ok. I'm one of those people that can spend 6 hours on Amazon reading reviews and comparing products buying something that costs less than $50. And that's what I did with purchasing these TOZO NC9 earbuds. I set a target price of under $50 and there were dozens and dozens and dozens of products available. All of them had mixed reviews including these TOZO buds, but "overall" they seemed to have the better of reviews as far as features, functionality, comfort, battery life, phone call/mic ability, charging case size, and most important to me... sound quality. Here goes my review:

Features: These paired up nicely out of the box with my iphone and with themselves. I will say that the one issue I had initially was there was no warning about the little piece of clear plastic tape over the earbud contacts (evidently to prevent contact to the battery case during shipping). The tape there is not apparent since it is so small. So don't forget about removing that tape before usage!

The noise cancelling capabilities of these NC9's are good, and when ANC is enabled, background noise is really cancelled nicely. Better than my old pair of earbuds. I do a substantial amount of air travel, so noise cancellation is a must for me. There are 3 modes, namely ANC On, ANC OFF, and Transparent mode. I have to admit, I had no idea what transparent mode was. But let me say that I do like the feature. I suffer from tinnitus so I listen to white noise to help cancel the f*cking buzz I have all the time, but with transparent mode I can get both the white noise and hear the TV simultaneously. Nice feature! As far as the other features like music selection, increasing or decreasing volume, selecting the next or previous song... works as advertised. Just got to learn the touch sequence. Only downside is that with all these touch sensitive earbuds, you have to be careful brushing past them. They're fairly sensitive.

You get plenty of silicon ear adapters. I ended up with the second smallest size, and they fit perfectly. They have a half dozen selections and go up in size to a friggen horse's ear. I can believe anyone has an ear canal that large for the largest size, but so be it. I wore them for a couple hours and no fatigue, and they stay in place moving around which is a plus.

Battery life is something I haven't evaluated yet, but with the charging case I'm sure they will be fine. The case is no frills, and you get 4 small LED's to indicate when fully charged. I could give a rat's but about seeing progress bars, percent charged, etc. I didn't buy these for the case bells and whistles, and what I like about the NC9's over the T10 and T12 is that the case is small.

Phone connection is just "ok". The mic pickup and call sound quality are nothing special and I know that's important to some. If it is and you're looking for great phone mic and sound capability, look elsewhere. I use these primarily for listening to music and my white sound generator apps to counter my tinnitus, so these work great in that regard.

Speaking of sound quality, I'd say the sound quality from music is good. Better than my last earbuds but not as good as, say, earbuds over $100 and $200 like Sony, Bose, and a few others. You get what you pay for, but for $35 the sound is plenty good enough for me. Bass is very good, and loudness is more than adequate. Mid and highs are crisp. I do use an equalizer app music player on my iphone, so I can change settings via software.

All in all, I'd say these earbuds are well worth the money and you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend... and no one gave me a doggone thing for leaving this review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the price and one surprisingly handy option, Transparent Mode
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 6, 2023
Color: Matte BlackVerified Purchase
Pros:I really like these ear buds. The price is reasonable and the sound quality is, for me, perfectly fine. I own several pairs of ear buds of various brands and these are my new favorites. They stay in your ear like they're supposed to, they're comfortable and I really love the three options they have for sound; ANC On, ANC Off, and Transparent Mode. With the ANC On function they do a wonderful job of blanking out unwanted backround noise in your environment with an internal speaker that effectively cancels sounds that reach you ear canal but it does shorten battery life . ANC Off is more like your standard ear bud. It muffles background noise like most of you guys are used to and it does lengthen the battery life, which is a big plus. But my favorite and most used feature is Transparent mode. With this setting I can listen to my music ( at a reasonable volume) and still hear ambient noises around me. This is my go-to mode when I'm outside walking my dog. With Transparent mode active, I can still hear everything around me without worrying about not hearing something that could adversely affect my safety. I can talk on my phone, listen to music, a pod cast, or a YouTube video without it reducing my situational awareness, plus it extends the battery life even more. With ear buds that do not have this feature, you are less aware of what's going on around you, and any possible threats such as unleashed pets or two legged snakes. I like to walk my dog at night and I really like the option of being able to use the ear buds and still hear if someone is coming up around me with possibly questionable intentions. My dog is a big one but he's still a puppy in his brain, so he's not much help in that department yet. Hopefully he'll get getter, but for now I'm glad I found these Tozo NC9 ear buds. I do wish the battery life was better but with Transparent mode on I get plenty battery life for my dog walking, plus some. As far as I'm concerned, the Tozo NC9 ear buds are the bomb. Just be sure that when you take them out of the box for first use, ensure that you remove the tape that covers the charging area on each bud, I thought mine was defective and had already started a replacement request before I noticed the tiny piece if tape covering the area where the charging prongs contact the ear buds. The buds will not charge unless this piece of tape is removed and it is easily overlooked (my bad). After I removed the tape the buds started operating flawlessly and I am very happy with them. They come at a very reasonable price and that enables me to buy more to use them as gifts, along with keeping an extra pair for myself in case my aforementioned dog decides to eat one.
Cons:
Battery life could be a bit better, but still not a deal breaker.

5.0 out of 5 stars Budget earbuds with great sound!
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 11, 2020
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
TOZO NC9 is a great little pair of wireless bluetooth earbuds with great sound at an affordable price point. I’ve purchased the T10 and have been using my son’s T6 for this review. I also own an Apple Airpods Pro that I use every day. And the TOZO NC9’s sound does not disappoint. In fact, the sound quality difference is negligible between my NC9 and my Airpods Pro that I use the two interchangeably every day.

Here’s my rating for each category (from 1 to 5):

Sound quality: 5
Sound stage: 5
Charging case & connection: 5
Fit: 5
ANC (Active Noise Cancellation): 4
Battery Life: 4

SOUND QUALITY
Overall, NC9 offers you a warm presentation of any type of music. The mids are slightly softer than T6 & T10, but they’re not weak. The highs are stable and crisp. I like the lows (bass) of NC9 slightly better than T6 & T10. Bass is deep and the mid-bass is punchy.

SOUND STAGE
NC9 offers adequately wide sound stage. The separation & definition of instruments are great—the earbuds sound identical to expensive name-brand earbuds.

CHARGING CASE & CONNECTION
If your NC9 is already connected to a device (like an iPhone, in my case), the earbuds would automatically connect to your device as soon as they’re taken out of the charging case. However, if you want to use it on a different device (let’s say you want to switch from your iPhone to your iPad), you have to manually disconnect from your iPhone (in your bluetooth setting) in order for it to connect to your iPad. This is an inconvenience, but due to the great sound and other virtues of the NC9, I don’t mind this at all.

FIT
I’m not sure if it’s the rubber ear tips or the design of the buds, but each time I insert them snuggly into my ears, the sound is always balanced (left and right channels, that is) unlike cheap in-ear earphones that must be inserted just right so that the left or right channel is not louder than the other. I found the ear tips to be quite comfortable and the earbuds stay in my ears unless (1) I shake my head quite violently or (2) I lower my head to tie my sneakers. Of course, due to the way the earbuds are designed (when properly inserted, the body of the earbud sits above the ear tip and the ear tip is inserted into the ear in a downward motion), if you lower your head to pick something up from the ground or tie your sneakers (before going for a jog), the earbuds would dislodge from your ear—this is a natural work of gravity on your earbuds. In any case, I love the fit of the NC9, and they stay in my ear better than the T10 and the T6—both of which seem to feel a bit heavier than the NC9.

ANC/Transparency MODE
After reading glowing reviews of NC9’s Active Noise Cancellation feature, I was a bit disappointed. I typically run a new set of earbuds through my “bathroom test” on its active noise cancellation feature. I would sit on the ivory throne, and with the bathroom fan whirling over me (my first-floor bathroom’s fan is quite loud), I would turn the ANC feature on and off in the earbuds to test this feature. If I were to give my Apple Airpods Pro a 9 (out of 10 being the best), I would give my NC9’s a 6. It suppresses some of the noise, but not in the way that my Airpods Pro does. Of course, my Airpods Pro’s are $250, and you can’t compare apples and oranges. For the price point, I would say that the NC9’s offer a decent level of noise reduction that can still be enjoyed in a crowded setting. Moreover, if you need noise cancellation, the ear tips do take out sound quite well. What I believe is NC9’s weakness is its Transparency Mode—it does not allow enough noise into the earbuds for me to use while jogging when I need to be aware of my surrounding. So I take my Airpods Pro’s when I go jogging or walking with my wife.

BATTERY LIFE
Battery life is a bit weak on the NC9’s. Amazon’s description touts that you can go for 8 hours on the NC9’s on a single charge and an additional 24 hours with the charging case. I repeated the battery test 3 times on the NC9 as well as on the T6 for comparison. After fully charging the earbuds, I listened to a youtube Jazz channel on low volume through my iPad. I recorded the hours played on a single charge. After that, I tried to see how long the earbuds would run while using the juice from their fully charged cases. Here are my results. On the T6, after a single full charge, the earbuds gave me 7 hours of playtime. After that, I used the juice from the fully charged case, and the total number of hours of playtime came to be 25 hrs and 35 minutes (average for 3 trials). On the NC9, after a single full charge, the earbuds ran 6 hours until the “battery low” voice came on the left earbud. I used the juice from the fully charged case after that, and the earbuds offered 17 hours and 30 minutes (average of 3 trials) of total playtime. This is certainly not the 24 additional hours noted in the product description. Yet, after an initial disappointment, I am not at all upset about the weak battery life of the NC9’s (as compared to the advertised playtime). I typically charge the case once a week in my regular use, and the battery life has not become an issue for me. They are a fraction of the cost of my Apple Airpods Pro’s, and they provide great sound.

And that is the virtue of the NC9’s, and that is why it is a credible contender as one of the top wireless earbuds at this price point. Due to its sound quality, fit, and overall functionality, it’s a go-to earbuds, and I realize that I’ve been using it more often than my Apple Airpods Pro. For some reason, I find the NC9’s enjoyable and the sound credible enough to feel I’m not missing out when I’m not listening to my Airpods Pro’s.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent, but quality Varies depending on use
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 20, 2022
Color: BlackVerified Purchase

5.0 out of 5 stars My First Time
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 13, 2023

I'm 47 years old and I've always owned wired headphones. After getting so tired of untangling the wires all the time, I decided to finally buy some wireless ones. So, I have nothing to compare these against, but I will say that I'm very impressed and satisfied with my purchase. The sound quality and range is great on these. I can go upstairs with my phone down in the kitchen and still have flawless sound. The battery life is fantastic. It pairs quickly. The packaging is nice. The instructions are clear, although the print is very small. The mic works good for phone calls. The case charges the headphones quick and the fit in the ear is comfortable and has never once popped out of my ear or even slipped a little. My only complaints would be that the case itself is a little bit large for putting in your jeans pocket if you want to take it with you. Another thing is that there is a very slight delay when touching the headphone to get it to pause a song. And this impatient person can't wait that one whole second sometimes and so I touch it again and accidentally skip a song. That's more my fault than the company's fault though cause it's literally about one second. Some have complained about accidentally touching it when taking it out if the ear and skipping a song. This is possible and I have done it, but if you grab the sides of it, you can take it out of your ear easily without skipping a song.
Overall, a great purchase. Bought my wife a pair as well and she loves them too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not AirPod Pros, but amazing for the price
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 29, 2021
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
I have AirPod Pros, but they do not work well with Windows computers and VMWare, so I cannot use them for work. So, I have been trying out tons of wireless headsets and earbuds. Honestly, most of them are super expensive and horrible in one way or another. So, at $60 and promising features similar to my AirPod Pros, I was pretty skeptical, but took the plunge.

Pairing and Bluetooth Connectivity
First off, you can use just one earbud if you want. And pairing both earbuds with one another is seamless, and in some cases better than AirPods. Even though I have had these for 2 days,

I have been using them almost non-stop minus sleep. I am always listening to music or on calls for work. I use an IP Phone on my computer, and I have had no issues with the Bluetooth connection dropping.

However, Bluetooth range isn't that great. I can talk maybe 15ft away from my computer before I start getting connectivity issues. No only that, but the connection will bounce between earbuds as well, making them mostly unusable. So, my advice to anyone using these is to make sure you don't need to venture far from your connected device. As a note, I did try pairing this with my iPhone and a MacBook and both had the same issue.

Sound Quality
I am breaking this into 2 categories: Phone calls and Music.

For phone or audio calls, the earbuds are pretty clear, but not perfect. I typically need to turn off transparency mode. Thankfully, it's super easy with 2 taps on the left earbud. I do NOT recommend using these for phone calls if you are just using 1 earbud.

For music, it's exactly what I expected from $50 earbuds. Music is clear, and surprisingly, a lot better than audio from phone calls, which is confusing. However, if you want good bass and super clear sound, these are not for you. But these are way better than any other in-ear buds I have tried. They actually are almost as good as regular AirPods. They definitely don't compare to the Pros though.

I really love how well they can switch between audio from apps, although that is more OS-specific (Windows, iOS and MacOS all had the same result). Although, I did have to unpair these from my other devices, because I would get all sorts of device switching, which was really bad when I was in an important meeting.

Battery Life
8 hours of battery life is definitely not accurate. So far I have not gotten more than 6 hours. I was afraid of even getting 2 hours initially because the first 20% seems to drain really quick, then it slows down. Charging is super quick though, which is very convenient.

Fit and Comfort and Workouts
These earbuds come with a few extra sizes for tips. I have pretty standard ears, so the tips that come out of the box fit perfectly for me. Also, the earbuds fit really well. I tried doing a HIIT workout and a yoga session and they stayed in my ears just fine, although once they start getting sweaty, they definitely start losing their snug fit and I did have readjust a couple times towards the end of my workout.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency Mode
First off, Active Noise Cancellation, or ANC. I am floored at how good the ANC is at this price point. They are better than all of the top-of-the-line headsets I tried, including Logitech, Jabra, and Plantronics. Yes, it still picks up background noise and if you have kids yelling, a loud TV, or someone else is talking nearby, it will definitely pick up this noise to a certain extent, but it's not super loud either for the listener on the other end.

Transparency mode at this price point usually is garbage for other headsets and bugs I have tried. Even though this is nowhere near as good as AirPod Pros, it's pretty amazing. To be clear, it does a good job at tuning out noises around you, NOT in front of you. For example, I could not hear one of my cats meowing loudly or my wife while she was on a work call. However, I could lightly hear my computer fan when it kicked on, as well as my keyboard clicks (keyboard has loud buttons). If I turned to look at my meowing cat, I could then lightly hear him meowing. But this is typically how most non-transparency mode works. In regards to Transparency mode being on, it's really good. Something you need to keep in mind though it any "bone" noises will be heard no matter what. So, if you are chewing something, it's going to sound super loud because you are using in-ear earbuds and the bone noise is amplified. So, ignore that, since it doesn't apply. What's important is that I can easily have a conversations with someone without needing to remove the earbuds, which is key for transparency mode. Again, not as good as my AirPod Pros, but it works and at this price point, there really isn't any decent competition, or at least from my testing.

Overall
To wrap it up, I love these earbuds and that they work perfectly with Windows and VMWare, which my AirPod Pros could not do. I will definitely be using these going forward for work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Noise cancellation is amazing! Needs improvements but, overall a solid product.
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 23, 2020
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
So I struggled with the score of this one, as I love some of the things Tozo did with these earbuds that make me genuinely excited for the future products of this company. However, while I think the NC9 earbuds are fantastic as a stand-alone product, if the standard to compare these headphones is the Tozo T12 (which is the previous model that surpassed all of its predecessors in every way) then I think that the NC9 earbuds are a bit lacking. I want to emphasize that It's not a mediocre product, but while it has improved in some ways, I wouldn't say it's a complete upgrade ievery way from Tozo T12.
If you want the condensed version, scroll to the bottom.
Otherwise, Let me explain.
For starters, the sound is excellent; it's far superior to the
Tozo T6, but I think it still falls very short to the Tozo T12. The voice and vocals are very clear, but the NC9 has a slightly smaller frequency range than the T12, and I think it doesn't do higher frequency noises as well. It seems a bit sharper and less clear than the Tozo 12 on high volumes.

The build quality is incredible; The matte black finish of the earbuds and case looks excellent, and the ergonomic design seems to be the best design amongst the Tozo earbuds. Like IT FEELS GREAT IN MY EAR. The T12 always felt a little bulky in my ear, but the NC9 feels it was made perfectly for my ear. Though, I have to admit it does feel a bit weird in my hand. I might just be used to the T12, or I just might be holding it awkwardly but, when I'm holding an NC9 earbud and trying my best not to press the touchpad area, I feel afraid I'm going to drop it. It's because there's minimal surface area on the side of the touchpad area to hold on to (but that's honestly such a small thing).
Surprisingly, the noise-cancellation feature is REALLY GOOD. It's not perfect, as no noise-canceling product is 100%, but like, it's pretty good. And I mean it's better than some noise-canceling headphones from competing brands that have worked on noise-canceling products for years (specifically the one that's known for making lamps *cough* Taotronics *cough*). Low-end frequency white noises are reduced a lot, and voices are cut at a decent amount. Between that and anything you might be playing, it makes it that much easier to have uninterrupted experiences. The transparency mode is also pretty cool, but I don't think it makes it entirely transparent. Much of the sound around you is still blocked by you just having earbuds in, but it does boost the voices around you slightly (And allow you to hear white noise again). But most voices are still a bit muffled.
The connection of the earbuds only got better. For one, it connects to my phone pretty fast, but the speed that the earbuds connect to each other is CRAZY. I mean, if I have one earbud in its case and I'm listening to music with the other earbud, if I take the earbud out of its case, it would connect to the other and start playing music FASTER than I could put it in my ear.
Now, this is where I start to have an issue with these earbuds. As I've already mentioned before, I think the sound quality, though superior to the T6, lacks in comparison to the T12. However, the sound quality is not my only issue as you may notice, I haven't even mentioned anything regarding the case. And that's because though I really enjoy the external design of this case, I think it lacks functionality. It's a great design that feels more solid and compact and any of the Tozo earbuds while being really unique and beautiful. I like it being rounder and smaller than the T12 case, yet, having its own unique design compared to the T6 (which looked like black Airpods). With a matte finish, that has the TOZO brand on top, and a glossy ring for contrast- the outward of this case looks outright awesome.
Nonetheless, that is where the fantastic details end with the case of the NC9. I might be spoiled at this point from all the other Tozo products, but I was sincerely disappointed to learn that this model DOES NOT have wireless charging. I was also sad to see that we went back to using dots as our sole way of determining the battery life of the case, which I am not a fan of. There's also no way to know the battery life of the earbuds.

SUMMARY
Overall, it's a good product. When it comes to the earbuds itself, they're great, the design is awesome, and personally my favorite design amongst the Tozo earbuds since it's as stylish and comfortable as ever. The connection process has also become more seamless than ever, being faster than all previous Tozo earbuds. The noise cancellation and transparency mode are also amazing new features that although they're not perfect, they are still convenient, and I hope it becomes a standard for future products that they improve on. However, while the sound quality is better than that of the T6, it falls far short of the T12. The case is also underwhelming as it no longer has wireless charging and has stepped back down to just using dots as the way to indicate battery life. There's also no IPX rating for these earbuds, which is dually disappointing. All in all, if battery indicators aren’t a deal breaker for you and wireless charging, waterproof rating and minor differences in sound don’t matter to you as much, I would recommend these earbuds. I personally use these now as my preferred method of watching videos, And YouTube on my phone, as the portable noise cancellation is really awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly adequate for my use, and extremely good price to performance.

This is the second set of NC9s I've purchased. Once at the beginning of 2021, and once in December 2022. I left my first pair in a restaurant, and had to replace them, because they are my go-to grab-and-go headphones. The only difference I can perceive from the two sets is the voice speaking (transparency mode/anc mode/anc off). It sounds more "American" for lack of a better description. I wear these on my long commute, as the noise cancellation works very well, so I can understand what people are saying in podcasts (which is very difficult through my upgraded car audio). I discovered that these have additional settings unlocked through the app (special noise cancelling settings and EQ settings!). For what these cost, I can't think of a better option for noise cancelling full wireless headphones. The sound quality is kinda mid, but much better than expected at this price point. Bass support is decent for headphones this size. Highs are a little tinny, but beat my expectations overall. I have a set of noise cancelling sountpeat t3s that I like, but don't sound near as good as these. Overall, I'm very happy with these. They blow away some options that cost significantly more. They won't replace your audiophile headphones, but they will impress you if you temper your expectations a bit. They aren't going to beat Sony or Bose, but they also don't cost $200, so there's that. They do stomp on Raycon though, and other brands in similar standing. I guess what I'm saying is, at this price point, you'll be hard pressed to find anything this feature rich, and sounds this good. I'm impressed. For reference, when I want to sit down, and listen to an album in full, I grab my Sennheisers, and plug into my fancy DAC. When I want a reliable, great sounding, noise cancelling, on-the-go experience, I grab my Tozos.

The Tozo NC9 headphones are yet another great pair of earbuds if you are looking for clear sound with great bass and an easy to use BT pairing interface.
I have owned the NC2's for a couple of years and while they are still going strong, I was interested in upgrading to something with similar features to the NC2's as I love the bass and ANC /transparent mode capabilities. These certainly do not disappoint! I will say that the bass isn't quite as punchy but it makes up for it in clarity and quality of the sound output.
Aside from loving the sound quality of the NC9's with its still powerful bass, I appreciate how the buds are easier to take out and put in compared to other similar models. Helps as I have wide hands and need things to not be so dainty!
The battery charging is convenient as you can use wireless or USB c charging, depending on your mood :) Of course the wired charge will go a bit faster if you need them ready in a hurry. I use them a few hours a day for my work commute and am just charging them for the first time after 4 days of use as they may not have made it through the 5th day.
Overall I have no complaints, especially as it is easy to see how these are very cost effective vs other buds on the market that have the same power and quality. I hope TOZO keeps making these great items for people like me who can't always afford the top name brands but certainly want to be apart of "the experience!"
