How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

4.0 out of 5 starsA reliable beast of a power bank but pricey
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 21, 2023
TL:DR - Great unit, but overpriced. 65W output is misleading (a 45W port and a 20W port), but unless you frequently find your laptop running out of juice on-the-go, it’s more than capable of meeting most needs.

I’m an Anker devotee. This marks my 4th power bank from them (which I still have and all work great) and I won’t stray from the brand anytime soon. It’s an exceptional unit with a couple caveats.

Most notable is the price; it’s very expensive compared to other brands with comparable specs. I got it on sale after the 535 was recalled, for just about $15 more than paid for the 535. I would not have bought this at full price, but Anker did not have a suitably-spec’d unit at the same price point as the 535.

If price isn’t an object I cannot recommend it enough. It’s the first power bank I’ve owned capable of charging my laptop. That’s a nice touch.

It’s a big boy, but not too big you cannot take it with you most anywhere. I bring it around all the time, and it is no more cumbersome than some predecessors.

One thing I do miss - although I don’t know how well it worked - is the dual-port recharging ability. As far as I know, only the outermost USB-C port works to input power, and it would have been nice if both ports could serve for input and output.

Another thing, as others have mentioned, is that 65W is misleading. One port will output 45W and the other 20W so arguably one might be able to make the 65W claim, but I don’t see any way this can provide 65W to a single device. I don’t need that much power, really - these are for power in a pinch not really as a primary source of power - but I get why the complaint exists.

My only other gripe is minor - Anker’s mesh sleeves used to fit their power banks snugly. Now they’re VERY loose around the unit. I am using the sleeve from the old 535 on this and it fits perfectly, just as the old models used to. The one that comes with this finds the bank positively swimming around inside.

All in all, I’m glad to have this, but would have waited for a 535 alternative at a better price point had this not been on sale. It has a few downsides but Anker remains as reliable as ever.

3.0 out of 5 starsDoes not charge at listed 30W
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 13, 2023
Does not recharge at listed 30W. My USB-C power meter never got above 10w
I used Anker 735 GaN prime 65w charger and 100w cable. No setup i used could get it to recharge at over 18w.
Website description says: "30W High-Speed Recharge: A full charge takes 3.5 hours". It took almost 5 hours to charge upon receiving.
It does output good power though. It charged my dell XPS up to 45w never got it up to 65w
Returned to sender

1.0 out of 5 stars Charged my iPhone only twice…my 10k is better
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 2, 2023
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
I always buy Anker chargers, and I bought this to take with another 20k charger on a rafting/camping trip. I charged my Apple Watch 3 nights. I charged my iPhone 13 Pro from about 1/2 charge on 2 nights, and on the 3rd night the battery was entirely dead. This was super inconvenient, and surprising, but true. Either my battery is defective or this battery is way overestimating its juice.

Charges of my phone were fast. This thing on the other hand takes over 5 hours to charge completely. And there is only one input slot so you can’t do it faster. Also, it’s bulky and heavy (I expected some weight, but this case feels heavy and it’s a bulky shape). I’m sending the defective battery back, and am hesitant to buy another Anker. Their stuff is getting more and more expensive, but it seems quality may be lacking.

1.0 out of 5 stars This 24,000 65W will not hold a charge.

This is my second one. I had to send both of them back and a previous small Anker charger. That is 3 total that failed after only a few months and 2 failed within weeks. The larger 24,000 would not hold a charge for more than a few days with ZERO usage! I have used Anker products for a very LONG time and have never seen this before until recently. Its almost as if I am getting seconds? And I never write product reviews!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective. Only 1 1/2 charge of IPhone 13 ProMax
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 12, 2023

Do NOT purchase. Not one of Ankers best by a long shot. Charges fairly fast but only will charge my iPhone 1 1/2 times and then down to one bar. Not the amount of battery that I require. Tried to reach Anker and no agents available. Will be returning this product. If they would replace it with one that works it might be fine but as of now it stinks. Not sure if defective or just a very bad product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible battery life
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 24, 2023

Bought this December 28th and have only used it a handful of times. It does charge my phone fairly quickly, however battery life is poor. Charger is completely dead after only charging my cell phone twice. I had an Amazon Basics with slightly less capacity that would charge my phone from empty 5 or 6 times easy. Do yourself a favor and try a different brand.

Was not able to use it once. Could not get it to charge so that I COULD use it. There should be no window to return defective items. I'm out $100 because I kept hoping item would be useful.

I use this battery for my heat jacket. Jacket it self has a 15min auto turn off function, which is great on battery saving and won’t over heat(I mean getting too warm). The battery lasts about 2 hours on three to four 15min on session. Then, It toke more than 10hours to recharge the battery.

It loses its charge after 2-3 days without actually charging anything. Completely useless and a waste of money. Do not buy

1.0 out of 5 stars ATLEAST 4.8 charges???
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on May 24, 2023

iPhone 13 Pro should get ATLEAST 4.8 charges. I got an iPhone 13 and it’s not even done 2 full charges and it’s dead. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I expected better from Anker as I have other products from them which work really well. Can’t return item as I don’t have the packaging and it’s “used”. Of course it’s used how else will I know if it works?!
